Description
We were pretty strict with the selection of our red in 2021, hence this 'limited edition' of a small number of bottles.
As of Autumn 2025, this is drinking really well. If you can, stick it in a decanter or carafe for 20 minutes or more to allow it to open up fully. But that's just a detail.

The back label: "A limited edition, this fine 2021 is a tasty blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Though not a powerful vintage, this medium bodied Bordeaux is really digestible, slipping down all too easily. Serve with good food or enjoy it on its own. 13.5% vol."
From Tom Gilbey, @tomgilbeywine Instagram, TikTok, YouTube. Tasted August 2025:
'This is so delicious I might dunk my croissant in it. All mulberry and damson fruit, soft silky tannin and lovely freshness - maybe a hint of mint. It’s THE crowd pleasing red and a v classy one at that.'
From Chris Kissack, aka The Wine Doctor
www.thewinedoctor.com (@chriswinedoctor Instagram/X) Tasted April 2025:
'A very limited production of Gavin Quinney's Bordeaux Supérieur this year, as in this challenging vintage much of the crop went into rosé - hence the label wears a 'Limited Edition' moniker. Rather bright and loose strawberry and other summer hedgerow fruits on the palate, with a little lick of toast. This latter element comes with some dried berry fruits on the palate, with a lean and open texture and first, although it tightens up in the middle, and the tannins have been nicely managed, showing nice cohesion, but taking a back seat behind the fruit. A very good response to the vintage here. This is drinking now, or soon. The alcohol is 13.5%. 88/100'

'These are excellent-quality wines - reds as well as whites - consistent and easy to enjoy. One to follow.'
Inside Bordeaux, by Jane Anson. Published by BBR, 2020.“Wonderful plummy fruit and liquorice and leather scent. Soft, feathery tannins and just the right amount of mid weight. Not hugely complex, but presses all the right buttons for this level of Bordeaux. Very pleasurable claret.”
Richard Hemming MW, Jancis Robinson.com“Today this is a model estate for Bordeaux, the white wines clean cut and vibrant, the reds increasingly good. And yet they remain affordable.”
Chris Kissack, thewinedoctor.com“Red, pink and white, they are utterly drinkable, each possessing a classic, mouthwatering Bordeaux texture and easy going fruit.”
