Here are comments from the visitors’ book at the farmhouse over the last few years. Such a shame that the 2020 season has been cut so short, with many having to cancel.
Here are Donna and David Hayward's kind comments from July 2020
"Farmhouse Bauduc - a thread
1. The farmhouse at Château Bauduc is one of the loveliest places in the world
2. BBQing with the old vines is bb-quantum physics, big fat entrecôtes, especially
3. The pool is wonderful
4. Sky TV - lazy sun baked afternoons watching the cricket
5. The walking paths in the nearby woods are spectacularly beautiful and well maintained
6. The Dionysian leafy arbour style outdoor eating area is world class loveliness
7. La Mer at Saveurs/Tout le Monde s'y Retrouve is a brilliant local food store
8. Margaux is a sweetheart (bless that dog)
9. The wine, of course, is spectacular - we drank our body weight and are leaving laden down
10. Gavin is the most generous and kind host - a privilege to lose a week to this unforgettably beautiful place

April
Another lovely stay at this lovely farmhouse. Everything is comfortable and homely and with three generations together, it is roomy and so user-friendly. Créon has grown in the last six years but is still charming. We enjoyed a lovely meal at La Table – very French, but affordable. Food very good.
Cycled to Sauveterre and back one day - a tough ride, especially at the end, needless to say, but a real sense of achievement.
Kids, 12 & 13 managed the whole route but were exhausted afterwards, as were the adults!
Love this place so much we hope to be back, without the six year gap we had last time.
Gavin and Angela are very friendly and the perfect hosts. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful house!
Michael, Mary, Barry, Heather, Rachel, James and Sarah, from Ireland/N. Ireland. 19th-26th of April 2019.
We came or relaxation and that’s exactly what we got. April is and was a little cool, but no matter! Many more sunny & bright days than expected. A lovely, lovely time for sure. Stefani & Rob G (New York) along with Steve & Karin Taylor. April 7th 2018.
A great time had by all; fun, food and far too much Bauduc wine, it’s FAB. Angela and Gavin such great hosts. Thank you for letting us enjoy your special place in France and this super farmhouse. Alison, John, Paul, Kathryn, Chris, Aston, Andrew and Lucy. 24th April - 1st May 2015.
What luck! We were trying to figure out accommodation for sister, niece and myself, when a dear friend (Kathy) noticed an opening on your schedule! Our friends got to visit… my sister got to snooze in the sunshine and I have a whole bunch of wonderful new memories of Créon and Bauduc. Thank you! Karen Sulkis. 16th - 23rd April 2014.
May
Another lovely week – plenty of food/wine/good company. Instant relaxation.
Visited the Lillet factory, Château Carbonneau & Dune du Pilat and L'Abbaye de la Sauve plus wine tasting.
With many thanks Sue, Sean, Diane and Richard. 17th - 24th May 2019.
Mixed weather for a couple of days, jumper on and fire lit. The rest was great. The bottling plant was fascinating to watch as 40,000 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc were filled, packed and stored. Only one mosquito bite! Great to see the vineyards that have supplied us with many a bottle. We will be back in October.
St Emilion and Barsac visited – the latter as my parents' last dog was called Barsac – a theme that we have with the resident dogs. Enjoyed Margaux's company! Here to celebrate Nick's 60th with family – not all together very often now and the farmhouse was the perfect setting. See you in October with 11 friends visiting the City of Bordeaux.
Nick, Sue, Ben, Rebecca and Jonathan Mitchell, with Olivia and Jonno. 24th - 31st May 2019.
All our expectations fulfilled, and more. A truly delightful and very comfortable home and we were blessed with great weather as well. A pleasure to meet the driving force behind the wines that we have enjoyed for so many years and will continue to do so. We quite expected Russell Crowe to appear from the vines. A perfect week. Tim, Sheena & Lucy. 4th - 11th May 2018
Four couples from the Midlands for our annual golf weekend. What a fantastic weekend. We enjoyed fabulous sunshine and the pool and the barbecue on Friday. Saturday and Sunday were inclement and our golf was somewhat rained off. However with a roaring fire and copious bottles of Chateau Bauduc to sustain us, we prevailed. A saunter thought St Emilion was a delight. Out host Gavin was hospitality personified, his daily liaison with us around 6pm to hear about his wine knowledge was a joy - as was his ability to join us for a glass (or four) of his wine. Maybe next time we come we might be joined by the sunshine and that would be 'perfectement'. Matt & Laura Clancy, Simon & Lulu Pettit, Martin & Angela Smith, Chuck & Cal Taylor. 11th - 14th May 2018
Fantastic few days at the farmhouse with brilliant tours at Latour, Margaux, Pichon Baron and Angelus organised by Gavin. Great to have his and his mum’s company on our days out. Looking forward already to our next visit. Sarah & Tim, Sonia & Simon, Julie & Carl. 14th -18th May 2018.
Another great week here. The weather was beautiful and we spent most of the time outside enjoying the peace and quiet…. And the wine! Sue, Sean, Diane & Richard. 18th - 25th May 2018.
Thank you for another wonderful stay! So lovely to be back here and we all enjoyed a decadent week with no shortage of wine and cheese. See you soon! Lots of love, Margie, Lydia, George, Sophie, James, Izzy & Joe. (Already missing sleepovers with Margaux). 25th May - 1st June 2018.
A lovely relaxing week. Perfect location, perfect farmhouse and pool. Perfect weather. Wish we didn’t have to leave! Hope to be back again. Sue, Sean, Dave, Richard. May 2017.
It feels like coming home - so good to be back - please can I come again soon? Back with daughters now grown-up and with their partners - so lovely to be together. Margie (Sophie and James). May 2017.
So fun to return - last time when I was 11, now 27! Still as beautiful and luxurious as ever. Now far more able to enjoy the wine and the wine tour. Thank you so much. Hope to return again soon. Izzy and Joe. May 2017
Thank you so much for yet another fantastic week in a beautiful setting and comfortable farmhouse. Next year please ensure fairy lights are in place! (Only teasing!) We loved our return to Bauduc in every way. Harriet S, 23rd - 30th May 2015.
Your graceful yet homely farmhouse and wonderful hospitality have made us feel very at home here. Idyllic setting, great location and great wine - what a combination! Thank you, Mike and Freda, May 2014.
Wonderful week. Thank you both and Margaux - she came for sleepovers! Would love to pack her up and take her home! Jeremy and Mary Walsh, May 2014.
In wine there is truth!’ All really wonderful. Thank you, especially for the viticulture lesson – a great intro to the region. Would love to return.
P.S. We had a blind tasting of the Chateau Bauduc 2012 Clos des Quinze against a 2008 Troplong-Mondot. Surprisingly, the Bauduc won hands down – all 6 voted for it! Kayoko and Will Hardwick, May 2014.
Fabulous week, wonderful hospitality. We very much hope to return. Jackie and Jonathan Swabey. May 2014.
What a beautiful place! So relaxing. Lots of great walks and cycling outings, beach and towns too. French food superb – wine fantastic! Too easy to graze and drink constantly so we’ll be back in Bordeaux at the first opportunity! The Kane Family. 5-12 May 2013.

Such an incredible weekend, the hosting from Gavin & Angela was worthy of 200 points! Gavin Aston. Stein weekend, 7th - 10th June 2019.
My first visit to Bordeaux in decades - couldn't ask for a more delightful introduction to this area and to Château Bauduc, thanks in no small part to the warm hospitality of hosts Angela & Gavin. Jeremy, Gill and I truly appreciated the Château tour and special tasting experience. Château Bauduc wine, comfortable accommodation in the farmhouse, idyllic weather all contributed to a memorable stay. With my thanks, Corinne. 31st of May - 7th of June 2019
Sad to leave, good time had by all. Good times, great tour of the vines, fantastic wine, rather a lot consumed! Thank you Gavin & Angela, brilliant hosts. Special thanks to Margaux for adopting us for the week and making us feel so welcome!
Julia Sayburn and family. 10th - 14th June 2019.
Two weeks in June… it felt like we were re-living A Good Year, except that the swimming pool was a lot better! Best way to spend a relaxing time with family (lots of them) and friends. We ate superbly (the local butcher knows the password – Château Bauduc) and drank magnificently (Château Bauduc again!).
If you go cycling on the piste (highly recommended) maybe take a picnic! Fab time – thank you family Quinney!!
Martin & Sally and gang 14th - 28th June 2019
Martin told us we would love it and he was right. We have had a marvellous week in this lovely farmhouse; very comfortable, stunning setting, splendid barbecue each evening in the setting sun, all washed down with copious quantities of your excellent wine. All in all, a magical delight. We will return! Robert & Lesley Dolman. 22nd - 29th June 2018.
We joined the Colyers, Dolmans, Cordy and Chris half way through the week, and it was magical in every way. A brilliant place for a 'Tits' tour, with lots of early morning tennis too. Just perfect! Sue & Bob Dowdale. 26th - 29th June 2018.
Nothing has changed! We returned to the same wonderful farmhouse, the ‘vine’ BBQ, unlimited delicious wines and the sun! Such a calm, very happy week with the 'Tits'. Thank you! Martin & Patricia Colyer. 22nd - 29th June 2018.
Wonderful week - Graham & Sue. Great wine, great weather, wonderful time - Bruce & Jill. A fabulous week - David & Andrea. 15th - 22nd June 2018
Much enjoyed introduction to a blur of permanent happiness. Despite the weather, much fun and merriment throughout. Katia (the cook) was a wonderful find and made life pretty idle from 7pm onwards. Unflappable and always cheerful regardless of the size of the meat or fish she cooked so well. Our very best wishes for the 2018 vendange and many thanks for looking after us so well. Tim & Pat & the Hills, McBeans & Langdales. 8th - 15th June 2018.
The Smiths and the Leesons plus their very noisy 3 children had a fabulous time. Thanks to Gavin and Angela for their wonderful hospitality. Highlights for the children included dinosaur and unicorn hunts in the woods and chasing Margaux around the vineyard. Highlights for mums and dads were BBQs and copious wine. We leave with heavy hearts and heavy loads of wine in the cars. We shall return. Paul, Ali, William and Charlie; Mike, Jo and India-Rose. 2nd - 9th June 2017.
What a wonderful week. Great place to stay and one only has to be sober on rare occasions. A varied group of pensioners spent most of the week in an alcoholic haze, but didn’t have to wonder where the next glass of wine was coming from. Managed to get to the market on Wednesday which was an experience. Thank you Gavin and Angela for being great hosts. We have had a fabulous time. Graham, Sue, Andrea, David, Jilly, Bruce, Joy and John. 9th - 16th June 2017.
Great family holiday. Very hot week but the pool and the wine made it a top trumps holiday. Thank you so much Angela and Gavin. Louisa, Bill, George, Abby, Joshua. Mezzi, Celia, Will, Jeff and Louise. 16th - 23rd June 2017.
Weather less than kind our first week, but the Bauduc magic shone through and we’ve had a wonderful time - cycling, kayaking (sublime and hilarious), visiting Bordeaux, the beautiful St Emilion, a cappuccino in Creon’s ‘La Tasse qui fume’, local chateaux, and the stunning Cap Ferret. Gavin has been such a perfect host. And we have all fallen in love with Margaux the dog! 23 June - 7 July 2017.
The farmhouse has a magical, beguiling tranquillity about it… a wonderful torpor fell upon us, and apart from the fabulous oysters from Creon on Sunday am, the market on Wednesday am (SUCH fun) and an early morning trip to Saint-Emilion (to miss the tourists (moi, a tourist!!), followed by a SUPERB lunch at L’Atelier de Candale, St Laurent des Comba. The ‘set’ menu was excellent and gorgeous French cooking… Margaux is a gem, totally adorable and brilliant with ‘little people’. Thank you SO much Gavin and Angela. JT, Susie + Livvy and Will. Charlie, Mark and Emily, 29th May - 4th June 2015.
A bit of paradise for your guests, Gavin and Angela, and a fantastic family home and business too. Difficult to imagine better, more relaxing holiday. Thank you so much, John. 29th May - 4th June 2015.
Having heard such great things from Mum and Dad about their time here last year, we were so excited to join them this year. The beautiful location, house, and hospitality of the Quinneys (and Margaux) totally exceeded expectations and we had a truly fantastic week. Particular highlights were our lunch at Club Plage Pereire in Arcachon, sweaty ascent on the Grand Dune de Playa (and view from the top), day in the beautiful St Emilion, and our final day vineyard tour with Gavin. Thank you so much Gavin and Angela for everything and hopefully see you again soon! Jeremy, Hatty, Mary, William, Ceiran, Petra, Ellie,
3rd - 10th June 2015.
Another special week at Chateau Bauduc. The highlight for us was the wine tour of the Médoc with Gavin. A very special day. If you do nothing else here, go on a tour with Gavin. We ate, we drank and we were very merry. Gethin and Helen, Steve and Lee, Wendy… 12th - 19th June 2015.
Superb weather, chateau and farmhouse (and pool). Wonderful company and food. Relaxing by the pool or in it with very good wines from Bauduc. We were here 4 years ago and it has not lost any of its charm. Looking forward to returning one day. Many thanks Gavin and Angela. Graham and Sue. 19th June – 26th June 2015.
A very memorable stay in such a wonderful farmhouse location. We enjoyed superb weather, company, wine and food with the refuge of the pool when it became too hot. A huge thank you to Angela and Gavin – and Bauduc! Tony and Janie.
What a superb location and fabulous farmhouse. Wonderful food and company and the opportunity to enjoy your gorgeous wine, Gavin and Angela. Thank you so much for your hospitality and together with amazing weather made for a perfect holiday. David and Andrea Miller.
Oh dear, it’s time to go. Team Vintage (Millers, Bells, Ellerbeck and us) have had a fantastic week here. Under cloudless blue skies, trying our best to drink Ch Bauduc dry, we reluctantly come to leave. Our third visit, and it only gets better. We have visited Siaurac, Gruaud Larose and Leoville Poyferre. However, Gavin’s brew remains top dog – it reflects the relaxed, immersive luxury of rustic life here in Bauduc: a magical combination. The welcome from both Angela and Gav is legendary. It only remains to decide when we next return. A bientôt, and thank you. Di and Mark Johnstone, 19th - 26th June 2015.
We came from Australia and Hong Kong and settled into the Farmhouse as our own place. The babies were perfectly accommodated (and so were we).
A perfect week of holidays with lazy times around the pool balanced with superb Premier Grand Cru visits to Chateau Lafite, d’Yquem, d’Issan, Haut-Brion as well as our very own Chateau Bauduc tour, thank you Gavin! Three cheers for the rosé! The Hussin family, 13th - 20th June 2014.
July
'A wonderful week of relaxing and family time. The new pool is fab! … and have made lots of wonderful new memories. We thoroughly enjoyed the Chateau Bauduc Rosé, in our opinion the best Rosé produced in France!
Thank you Gavin, Angela and family xx' July 2022
Thank you Gavin and Angela for an unforgettable week! The girls have had an amazing time here in Bordeaux the weather and food have been superb! We have truly loved being here.
Glenn, Michelle, Amelia, Sophia and Grace - 28th June - 5th July 2019
Another lovely holiday in this wonderful farmhouse. It is every bit as fabulous as we remembered it from 2015. Everything you need to enjoy your holiday is on your doorstep - BBQ, pool, walks, sunsets, eating below the vines! Dinner in St Emilion on Sunday night was spectacular - right on top of the village - great views too! Merci beaucoup encore Gavin et Angela. The Dalys & Lunnys (Irelande du Nord). 6th - 13th July 2018.
Five years later and we’ve had a second lovely holiday in the ultra-special farmhouse at Chateau Bauduc. All we want to do here is laze around the place and the pool (and drink wine of course!). Merci beaucoup. Dermot & Eileen Lunny. 6th - 13th July 2018.
Another fab break in Bauduc! A wonderful place to relax and enjoy food, wine and scenery. Delightful that our favourite dog, Margaux, is still around to join us for sleepovers! A bientôt. Eliz. 10th - 13th July 2018.
Family gathering in a much loved place. We explored a little, swam a lot, relaxed and enjoyed Bordeaux. We love it here. Catherine H. 13th - 20th July 2018.
A bit of french paradise. Shall miss sunsets and sunrises. Love this house. Thank you very much. Terry (Cath's father). 13th - 20th July 2018.
Outstanding week once again at the farmhouse. Lots if sun, wine and fantastic food. Finished the week feeling relaxed but gutted to be heading home. Lots of love, Harriet, Bertie, Peter & Tilly. 20th - 27th July 2018.
Another week of precious family time in our favourite place. Wall to wall sunshine, lots of laughs, relaxing and delicious food and wine. We don’t want to leave. Dominic & Sannah, Freddie & Naomi Wilson, Rory Wilson, Katie Hall, Ed Wilson & Amanda Cederholm. 20th - 27th July 2018.
We had a wonderful time in the farmhouse. We came, we saw, we fell in love with Chateau Bauduc. The girls especially loved the pool and Margaux the little terrier. The Mcgarry family. 7th - 14th July 2017.
Wonderful time at Chateau Bauduc, a charming farmhouse in a fantastic setting. Gavin was good enough to show us round the vineyard (with 5 small kids, all boys!) for the whole family to enjoy. Barbecues using the old vines taste even better than usual. Other things we did that may be of interest to guests: Market in Cadillac is on Saturday morning;Beach at Arcachon and lunch on the beach at Cafe Plage Pierre - lovely seafood and a chilled out setting; Bordeaux - the mirror at place del Bourse and the Jardin Public (for kids), big underground parking at ‘parking de la Bourse’ which is very convenient but not for cars with roof boxes! Scotts and Hoggs. 14th - 21st July 2017.
The Johnstones came again - for some this was visit numero 4. We introduced Art (5) and Will (3) to the delights of Chateau Bauduc, all the way from Hong Kong. Tig brought Dot from Edinburgh and Becks from London/Germany/Italy/Europe. Despite less than scorching weather we again indulged ourselves in those things Geonaise and return relaxed, if frustrated that the sun, as always, is at its best as you drive away. Que Sera. Bauduc, Gavin and Angela’s haven in the vines, remains a perfect place. Margaux the dog was our constant companion, often into the village as well - it seems to be her sole aim! Mark, Di, Andrew, Pips, Art, Will, Becks, Tig and Dot. 21st - 28th July 2017.
Absolutely perfect week. Cannot think of anything I would have changed.
Ian, Lindsay, Miles, Naomi and Tom, 1-8 July 2016
Thanks for a relaxing great week! Returning home with cars full of wine. What's not to like!
The Tuite family, 22-29 July 2016
A splendid fortnight. Wonderful to come back for a second and longer visit. The Sauvignon 2015 seemed the best ever. The sun shone, the pool beckoned. Bordeaux, St-Emilion, the cycling and Creon market all added to the pleasure. And lovely to spend time with the extended Quinneys. We’ll be back.
David, Fiona, Miriam, Hugh, Alexei and Alex, 8-22 July 2016
Wonderful house, pool, and weather! All in all a very relaxing holiday, which is not an easy accomplishment with a one year old! Perhaps it was the effects of the splendid house wines…A lovely day out and lunch at Les Sources de Caudalie (the less formal of the 2 restaurants) and best steak frites ever at L’Entrecôte in Bordeaux. Merci famille Quinney! The Dalys and Lunnys. 10th -24th July 2015.
Ten of us have spent a wonderful week here at Bauduc. People doubted our ability to relax, unwind and rejuvenate with six under 5s between us. We have. We have cycled daily to Creon (the children) and occasionally to Bordeaux (via the Piste cycle track) and Sauternes (adults cycling with youngsters in support car). We feasted on oysters from the Sunday stall in Creon. A day at the beach in Cap Ferret saw us all into Chez Hortense for moules frites. The beach 100 yards away from Chez Hortense on the Basin d’Arcachon side was perfect with toddlers/babbies/youngsters. According to William (aged 3) the swimming pool was his favourite. Henry (aged 4) is clearly more refined and loved the train ride around St Emilion and its stunning vines. Emmie’s enthusiasm peaked watching her brothers and friends running naked into the water at the mirror pools in Bordeaux. For the Doherties this was a return visit but a debut for the Braziers. They have fallen in love with the farmhouse, the area and the Bauduc wine. Their car is as low on its suspension as I have ever seen, laden with their new favourite wine. Many thanks to you all.
The Doherty family and Brazier family, 24th - 31st July 2015.
An amazing week with immaculate weather. Highlights include a trip to St Emilion, the magic pool in Bordeaux, the fabulous Arbor et Sens climbing park and the therapeutic sarments barbecuing! The Blicher-Hansens, 12th - 19th July 2013.
Our 3rd visit to Chateau Bauduc, exceptional as ever. This time we changed things up and went canoeing down the Ciron River, we bike rode all the way from Creon to Bordeaux, and my favourite experience of all was the water sports at the quarry about 20 minutes from here, at Ski Baurech with Damien. Highly recommend it! The wine, farmhouse, pool and weather were all stunning as per, and lived up to the high standard set from previous visits which have all been consistently good. The Martin and Navin family, 19th - 26th July 2013.
August
'Well, what a fantastic two weeks we have all had. It's the first time in three years that we have all been able to get together for a holiday. We have celebrated two wedding anniversaries. The farmhouse and swimming pool have been perfect in this heat. We have also enjoyed several bottles of Bauduc wine.' August 2022.
Dear all at Château Bauduc, what an absolute pleasure our fortnight staying at the farmhouse has been, it doesn't get any more delightful than drinking some seriously delicious wines surrounded by the vines they were made from! Big goodbye, thank yous & cuddles to everyones favourite dog… Margaux! She's been the highlight of our holiday! Enjoy the rest of your summer,
Ben, Philippa, Oscar, Cheryl, Ben, Lucy, Flo & Miffy. 26th July - 9th August 2019.
PERFECTION! A wonderful blend of wine, locality, farmhouse and people. A recipe for an unforgettable holiday. Gavin's knowledge of wine is second to none (sorry Oz!). Angela's knowledge of Gavin is invaluable! The combination is friendly professional and intimate. You cannot beat the place. Thanks, Paul and Agnes Evans and family, and Theresa Cowan. 16th - 23rd August 2019.
Our first visit at the end of summer and our fifth visit overall. The farmhouse and garden are so relaxing and we made full use of the swimming pool this time around. We very much enjoyed what turned out to be an extended tour and tasting.
(And a delight to see Margaux once more!)
Thank you very much, Dee & John, John & Sarah Schofield, Claire & (grandson) Jacob Sinclair, Katharine & Joshua Dovey, Hannah Schofield & Toby Johnson, and Mai Tang and Richard Schofield. 23rd - 30th August 2019.
What a fantastic trip - two weeks of calm and quiet for the family. Great facilities and provision of useful equipment, kitchen utensils, pool toys….. and of course ample wine. Great base to travel from - not much more than 1 hour to most places on right and left bank and delightful to return to such peaceful surroundings. Stunning views all around the farmhouse. Lots of useful tips - thank you Gavin and Angela. We’d love to come back again and explore more vineyards. The Gunawardenas xx. 10th - 24th August 2018.
Lovely two weeks with the family at Bauduc. Good wines of course, maybe a little too much but when in Bordeaux… Scorching weather - would recommend a few hours in the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux when it’s really hot - very interesting and informative (and out of the sun!). You must visit the Halles du Bacalan opposite, a market/restaurants concept - something for everyone. Chuckled at the number of wine shops in St Emilion, although lovely when the town is quiet. We will miss being amongst the vines, in the pool and of course Margaux's company. Many thanks and love from the Tidwalls x. 27th July - 10th August 2018.
A second magical stay for the Godfree/Howards, introducing our friends to the delights of Bauduc. We’ve had the most fantastic week. A few cloudy spells in the early days made for perfect cycling weather. We enjoyed the abbey at La Sauve, a great lunch of seafood on the beach at Archachon, the dunes, and many lazy afternoons by the pool. The four kids (5, 5, 2, 2) all adored it and so did we - even the slight hangovers! Thank you so much. Lucy, David, Ned and Ben. Lucy, Mark, Eliza and Tilly. 28th July - 4th August 2017.
Several days piggy-backing on the extravagance of the Millars. If there was a definition of pleasure this is close to it. Dinner under vines with all that Bauduc offers is somewhere beyond what you should be allowed. Gavin - thanks for opening doors at Pichon and Leoville yesterday. Wishing you a good vintage and many more. I hope we get a chance to return. S… and Claire and Family. August 2017.
The most wonderful weather plus lovely food and wine at the charming, comfortable and hospitable farm house = a fantastic week. Thanks Quinneys. Last here in 2003 and just as special.
The Newman family, 26 Aug-2 Sept 2016
We've had the most amazing time at the gorgeous Chateau Bauduc! Totally peaceful in the most idyllic setting.
What an idyllic place to be entertained by our lovely daughter, son-in-law and three gorgeous granddaughters. Three fun filled days of sun, laughter and just the occasional bottle of wine. What an amazing few days - a beautiful place.
Thank you for such a special, beautiful, memorable week. We've had such a wonderful time, eating, drinking, lying by the pool, playing lots of games, exploring some beautiful nearby towns and villages. St-Emilion was simply stunning!
Another wonderful week, and already of thinking about returning next year. Lovely special family time in such beautiful surroundings - it couldn't have been better and fab weather too. Thank you.
The Taylors, 5-12 August 2016
Another wonderful week. Glorious weather, food, wine and location. Enjoyed our trips to St-Emilion and the new wine museum in Bordeaux. The wine tour by Gavin was the highlight! We are looking forward to our next visit.
The McLoughlins, 12-19 August 2016
Our first visit with the McLoughlin regulars. Such a beautiful setting - the website photos don't do it justice! So perfect no need to venture past the pool-arbor-vines. Enjoyed every style of Bauduc wine but the cremant was our favourite and taking a crate home. Fantastic lunch and dinner at La Table, enhanced by being escorted there and back by the beautiful Margaux.
The Harris family, 12-19 August 2016
Wonderful week… You must go to the little oyster bar on the square in Creon – so simple and delicious. Sausage and salad, salad de chèvre, cheese plate, pate, oysters, melon and jambon, white wine – all tried by a party aged 12-40 and fully devoured. The Hughes and the Allens. 6 August 2015.
Fantastic time – again! Weather amazing. We’ll be back. Thank you for a marvellous holiday. David, Lynne and co. August 2015.
We have all spent a delightful week in a fantastic setting. The farmhouse is beautiful and well equipped. Margaux is a perfect companion- we all want to take her home! Highlights have been lounging by the pool, delicious BBQs and drinking copious amounts of the perfect ‘House’ wine.
Cap Ferret is a lovely beach area, but do take Gavin’s advice and leave early - unlike us!
We visited ‘La Table’ and ‘Le Cosy’ restaurants in Creon, and our preference was ‘Le Cosy’ as the service and food were excellent. We had a very special week and hope to visit again soon. The Jenkins family, the Hodgsons and Phil Sharman
1st - 8th August 2014.
We leave Bauduc Farmhouse with a spring in our step and batteries fully charged. The weather was great and our ‘Bear Hunts’ memorable. The BBQ was used most evenings and supper was al fresco with plenty of Bauduc Le Trois Hectares to wash it down. Our day trip to Cap Ferret was great fun and, despite the traffic, I would recommend it.
We enjoyed our evening in St Emilion and can recommend ‘Logis de la Cadene’ for dinner. The ownership has changed hands recently, and is definitely an improvement.
‘Le Flore’ in Coirac is definitely worth a visit, it was my favourite dinner – very professionally run and superb traditional French cooking. The Lecoeurs, Vlastos and Corcorans,

'Another fantastic stay at the farmhouse - such a joy after a brief absence! What a beautiful, peaceful and fun place. We ate well, drank well and go back sad to home but very well rested. See you all again soon I hope and best of luck with the harvest.' Sept 2022.
'A lovely relaxing week amongst the vines. So quiet and peaceful. Fabulous weather and delicious wine, especially the rosé!! Thank you for letting us share your life on the vineyard for a brief interlude. PS loved the pool.' Sept 2022.
For the second time in a year, election talk brought us to Bauduc to view the madness from afar. Distance does not “lend enchantment to the view” but it allows us to enjoy the old and valued staples of good food, good wine, good fellowship and time together, as well as the opportunity to restock the cellar at home – always assuming that our new wheels (all four of them) get us home. Once again, thank you for a wonderful relaxing week.
Stephen & Annette Dorrell, 13th - 20th September 2019.
Being greeted by sunshine and a stocked fridge set us all up very well, not knowing which of the wines was our favourite meant it was most important to try them all!! Delicious :) We dined at La Table (lovely outside area) and l'Atmosphere, both of which served great food. We ventured down to Arcachon which had a fabulous beach, but mostly we lounged around and drank wine. We thought it was a lovely touch to get a free dog with the house, she managed to fit into our hand luggage with ease. :) Thanks again, Andy, Tom, Rachel, Mark, Simon & Cathy. 20th to 27th September 2019.
Our second visit, this time with our two grandchildren. We found nothing has changed in the past eight years. The farmhouse is still a marvellous haven in the most excellent location. Wonderful weather, food and of course wine. Thank you Gavin and Angela. Ian & Janice Biggin, Nick & Jude Carr, Freddie & Oliver. 24th August - 7th September 2018.
This was a truly superb week of bright sun, chilling by the pool, eating like kings under the vines and enjoying great company. An early start to watch the amazing harvest machine was v. worthwhile and the Wednesday market was great. A brilliant place - thank you so much. Andy, Helen, Will and Ella Griffee. 14th - 28th September 2018.
Lovely couple of weeks here at the farmhouse during harvest time. Plenty of sunshine and warm weather to relax by the pool. We last stayed here in 2002 with three little, young boys who are now full grown men! It’s been wonderful to return and be joined by the Griffee family. The Wednesday market is a must for foodies. The local shops all good for produce too. The local wine is not bad either. Thanks to Gavin & Angela for having us back. Joanna, Tony, Dylan, Miles Francis Burke. PS. Margaux has been an absolute joy. We will miss her. PPS. Very good meal at Chez Charlotte in Podensac. 14th - 28th September 2018.
A return visit for us, fourteen years after the last. Everything is just as perfect as we remembered and our three week visit this time has allowed us that much needed relaxation and family time we crave. So lovely to catch up with all the Bauduc ‘family’ again. Until next time. The Millars. 1st September 2017.
With thanks from the Dorrells and the newly-wed Elsons for providing a haven of calm after Alexandra’s wedding. Returning for our fourth visit to enjoy Quinney hospitality - and only sorry that we shall miss Dominic’s birthday celebrations. Thank you to Gavin and Angela for everything, particularly the recommendation of a visit to Chateau Siaurac where the setting and the food match the wine. The 2017 vendage is in full swing - and we look forward to the result. With love and thanks, Stephen, Annette, Alexandra, Charlie, William, Philip and Christopher. 22nd September 2017.
A lovely break away in such a friendly home. Good weather apart from a great electric storm. Looking forward to coming back.
Michael and Liz Ostroumoff, 9-23 September 2016
What a great farmhouse, gardens and pool! Martha (21 months) loved the pool! We have had a great week, food, restaurants and three cheers for the wine! Thank you so much. The Higgs family.
Life is for sharing, to spend valuable, precious time with friends and loved ones is the essence of a holiday, to be able to spend that time in such a peaceful, beautiful setting has been a privilege. Thank you for a wonderful week. Pam, Jan, John, Chris, Bill & Trish, 30th August - 6th September 2013.
We have just spent one magical, wonderful week at Chateau Bauduc (otherwise known as Gav’s gaff). Gavin and Angela’s superb hospitality made it so much more special and we feel privileged to have seen their home. Wow!
This area has so much more to offer apart from wine – the picturesque countryside and towns are spectacular and the locals are extremely friendly and helpful.
We return to Blighty rested, chilled and determined to pay Chateau Bauduc another visit very soon! Thanks for an amazing week! John and Maria Williams, Malcolm and Helen Norman
29th August – 5th September 2014.
Another wonderful stay in the farmhouse.
Serious problem with the weather – so wonderful we hardly left the side of the pool! And can’t imagine where the wine went to..! Lynda and John Atkinson, 5th - 12th September 2014.
Thank you Angela and Gavin for another wonderful, relaxing week at Chateau Bauduc. We returned this time with family, 2 sons and grandson and 2 dear friends. They all loved it here, especially the nearly 3 year old grandson, Sam, who had a great time in the pool.
Wonderful time as usual and we all enjoyed market day in Creon. We hope to return again and maybe introduce more friends to the delights of a week in the Farmhouse. McDermott family and the Barwicks, 13-20 September 2013.
A fairytale house weaving its spell of wonderful food, friends and fine wine! Thank you to our excellent hosts for their recommendations. Melanie & Roger Coates 19th - 26th September 2014.
We couldn’t have wished for anything more. Weather, ambience, garden, pool, wine and accommodation ALL PERFECT! A fabulous holiday, with lots of laughter and memories - we will be back :)

October
How a week flies when one is enjoying oneself so much! From a keenly anticipated arrival to a most reluctant departure, every one of the seven days was filled with interest, be it restaurants, wine tasting (and drinking!) golf or bridge and, needless to say, relaxing by and in the heated swimming pool.
Of particular note must include our welcoming hosts, Gavin and Angela, who dealt with our senseless questions, so patiently and with humour. We were fortunate to be present when the early morning harvest of vines close to the farmhouse was taking place. Three excellent restaurants were sampled – La Table, L'Entrecôte (Bordeaux, but a must) and l'Atmosphere - although the same cannot be said of the two golf courses at Pessac and Cameyrac.
The Côte de Boeuf from Mers Saveurs (Tout le Monde now) cooked on the BBQ, fired by old vine wood was a special treat.
Access to Bordeaux by a recently introduced bus route (No. 407, 40 minutes each way at a return fare of €3.60) is a far better alternative to driving and parking.
In conclusion, the week has been an absolute pleasure – it does not get any better than drinking Château Bauduc surrounded by the vines that they were made from.
Thank you from the Birmingham Octet. 27th September - 4th of October 2019.
Many thanks for your warm welcome and our very pleasant stay in this charming Farmhouse. The weather has generally exceeded expectations, so good, use has been made of the pool! We've enjoyed our excursions to Bordeaux (excellent 407 Bus), the Parc Ornithologique du Teich (great bird watching – we spent 5+ hours there) and local walks along the “Pimpine” cycle path. Every one of the Bauduc wines we sampled have been delicious, so we're delighted to be taking plenty home with us. We've been fascinated by the (I think) Convolvulus Hawk-moth Caterpillars feeding in the border beside the front door. We'd love to be here to see the adult moths next summer. Very best wishes.
Phil & Sue Jones - 4th to 18th October 2019.
Our fifth stay at this delightful place. This time our family, Matthew & friend Jimmy, Daniel, Becci with their three children and us. It was Daisy's first visit, our one-year old granddaughter and she loved it being surrounded by us, the pool and of course visits from Margaux!! We swam, relaxed, enjoyed each other's company and drank your excellent wine. There is no better place we know where we can do that. Unfortunately Daisy developed Chicken Pox whilst she was here and was not able to fly home. We hastily rearranged our homeward plans. I got a flight booked back to Manchester and Daniel, Daisy went back in my place on the ferry. A truly big thank you to Angela and Gavin who let me stay an extra night in the farmhouse and even took me to the airport.
We will all be back in a couple of years – we can't keep away from our home from home!!
Christine, Paul, Matthew, Daniel, Becci, Sam, Amelia, Daisy (the McDermotts) & Jimmy our dear friend - 25th October - 4th November 2019.
Another lovely stay at Chateau Bauduc. Wonderful sunny weather, a restful stay. Visits to Cité du Vin in Bordeaux and to Chateau Sigales Rabaud most enjoyable and educational. Lunch at L’Entrecote in Bordeaux a must. Thank you again to Angela & Gavin for making us so welcome. Tim & Nola Lea, Martin & Wendy Bloomer, Jenny Lea. 28th September - 5th October 2018.
Chose Bauduc wine for our wedding five years ago and then came to visit last year when we were in the area. saw the farmhouse and decided we had to book it. A lovely autumnal break, peaceful, relaxing and fabulous surroundings. Didn’t do too much but that was the point. We look forward to coming back and getting a Bauduc top up in the future. Rob & Claire England. 5th - 12th October 2018.
Half term break and extension of the summer. Fine wine, great company, and very relaxing holiday. Swam daily - not bad for the end of October. Gavin & Angela lovely hosts. Thank you! The Wyatts. 20th October - 26th October 2018.
First impressions: wow! Fabulous farmhouse, beautiful pool, fairy lit pergola, basket chairs on the lawn, autumn leaves, stunning colours. Second impressions: just as the first! Peace, tranquility, space to relax and enjoy the company of great friends. The tour of the vineyard by Gavin was very informative, and the Chateau Bauduc wine was delicious. Great recommendations from Gavin: St Emilion, and the Chateau Siaurac tour and lunch in the garden in the sun was out of this world. Glorious week at Chateau Bauduc. David, Anne, David, Lesley, John, Lynne. 6th - 13th October 2017.
Another wonderful (and exceptionally hot and sunny) week at Bauduc - this time with the added bonus of diggers, tractors and general excavation work to entertain the toddlers in tow. Thank you for everything and see you all very soon I hope! Naomi, Miles, Huw, Helen, Tom, Idris. 13th - 20th October 2017.
Autumn a wonderful time to be in the Bordeaux region, especially to enjoy late season warm sunshine. Chateau Bauduc is the ideal base to explore St Emilion and Bordeaux city. Lovely vineyard walks and delicious Bauduc wine. Lovely surprise that still warm enough to use pool. We will all miss Margaux (including Darcey the Spaniel) very much. Mike, Christine, Rosalind, Nigel. 20th - 27th October 2017
Another fantastic week: such fun with family and friends; so relaxing. Thanks to Gavin and Angela. Tim, Nola, George, Hannah, Jenny, Martin and Wendy. 29th September - 5th October 2017.
A fabulous week of excellence! Wonderful farmhouse, perfectly located, greatly enjoyed by all. We recommend a visit to Creon market in a Wednesday - all manner of local produce available and great quality. Do be sure to visit St-Emilion and stroll the beautiful and ancient streets. Many thanks to Gavin for arranging the memorable wine tastings - a highlight of the holiday. Such a peaceful place - already thinking about returning. Margaux was a most welcome addition and visited often - she is adorable!
The Leas, Taylors and Bloomers, 4-11 October 2016
Thank you. We had a lovely break - we enjoyed the pool, cycling from Creon cycle hire, barbq-ing and exploring the area especially St-Emilion & we enjoyed the wine! Grateful thanks. Fantastique! Wonderful restorative surroundings.
Mary, Andrew, Martyn, Catherine, 13-20 October 2016
Another fabulous week, our 4th visit. This is a real home from home for us all. Our grandchildren really enjoyed the pool and freedom, not to mention visits from Margaux and Palmer. The wine, as always, was much appreciated and walks amongst the vines and through the woods, collecting chestnuts was delightful. Cooked over the fire the chestnuts were delicious!
Had a lovely week. Very relaxing and in such a great setting. The children really enjoyed finding Conyers, playing in the pool and walking in the woods.
Had another (2nd time) wonderful week in this peaceful and beautiful setting. Really enjoyed the stay. The McDermott family and friends, 21-29 October 2016
Such a lovely place. We have really enjoyed it here, taking it easy, walking around the vines, listening to the birds, watching the deer, admiring the sunsets and even enjoying the pool in the rain!! Thank you for your warm welcome. Hopefully see you again…a week is not long enough! Dominique, Chris, Damian, Jamie, Eden, 1st - 8th October 2015.
Thank you so much! We had the loveliest stay ☺ Very peaceful and relaxing, will most definitely come again! Eden, 1-8 October 2015.
Gavin, Angela and Margaux, many thanks for the lovely stay at the farmhouse. The autumn nights around the fire were just FANTASTIC. Also thanks to Daniel and Nellie for making us welcome. Looking forward to tasting the great 2015 vintage, we have seen in production. Chris, Adrienne, Andrew and Wendy, Brian, David… 14 October 2015.
