£87.00

Our favourite, fairly full-bodied special cuvée is too easy to drink. Listed at Rick Stein’s. £14.50 a bottle.

The back label: ‘Made from hand picked Merlot (75%) and Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard, this full bodied yet easy to drink 2012 was aged in French oak barrels. Approachable and drinkable from 2016 onwards, it’s best decanted.’

Les Trois Hectares 2012 is an artisanal affair. It was made from vines with fewer bunches for greater concentration and harvested entirely by hand. Aged in French oak barrels, this is a tasty, darkly fruity and full bodied blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon; a fairly powerful wine that’s opening up really well now, and best decanted if possible.

Les Trois Hectares 2012 is served at functions at 67 Pall Mall, the stylish new London wine club which has one of the most comprehensive lists in the world, and at Rick Stein's.

“This is a beautiful château run by London rat-race exiles Angela and Gavin Quinney. They make excellent red, white and rosé, all marked by their sheer drinkability and by their true sense of Bordeaux style. Affordable, approachable, Bordeaux needs another 100 Bauducs – and fast.”
